STARS AND STRIPES
The series proposes to investigate American culture, deepening the sense of shared patriotism, in relation to public and private spaces.
Through shots taken in Miami Beach, the artist blends the medium of photography with painting. The documentary approach to photography is therefore enriched by the artist’s operation, who intervenes directly both on reality and on the image, modifying it. The result is a series of American flags scattered everywhere and obsessively, creating static and playful images. The colors of the American flag are slightly modified with pastel tints, and the mirror design of the flag creates a visual short circuit of sensations and meanings.
With irony, the artist creates images that are poised between reality and fiction.

FEDERICA COGO
(Thiene, IT, 1985)
After a degree in painting from the Academy of Belle Arti in Verona, in 2011, she began collaborating with PH Neutro, a specific gallery for contemporary photography.
In 2012, she won the 2nd prize in the video section at Premioceleste with the work Untitled # 1, which???alllows her to exhibiteat the Ex-Gil in Rome. As part of the 2013 Arte Laguna International Award, she won an artist residency at Lab_Yit, China. She was the finalist at Como Contemporary Contest 13 and Who Art You?.
In 2018 she was among the 222 emerging ones to invest in, the Exibart catalogue. In 2019 she was invited to Ankara by the Guler Sanat gallery for an artist residency promoted by the Italian embassy in Turkey.
She currently lives and works in Vicenza.
