The international jury of Giovane Fotografia Italiana #10 (Young Italian Photography#10) has selected – from the more than 400 applications submitted – the seven finalist projects that offer different photographic reflections on the theme “Belonging” and will be financed through a cash prize and exhibited in a collective exhibition at Palazzo dei Musei in Reggio Emilia as part of the European Photography festival (28 April – 11 June 2023).

The selected artists will also compete for the Luigi Ghirri Prize, worth 4,000 euros, which will also offer the winning project the opportunity to present a personal exhibition at the Triennale Milano.

The big news introduced this year is the special mention New trajectories. GFI in Stockholm promoted in agreement with the Italian Culture Institute of Stockholm for the development of an artist residency which will consist of a period of study and research in Sweden, during which the identified artist will develop an artistic project which is going to be exhibited in a solo show curated by the IIC Stockholm.

The awarding ceremony will take place during the opening days of Fotografia Europea (28 April – 1 May 2023) as part of a rich program of conferences and guided visits.

The seven finalist projects – selected by a jury composed of Julia Bunneman for Photoworks Festival, Krzysztof Candrowicz for Fotofestiwal Lodz and Daniele De Luigi with Ilaria Campioli for Giovane Fotografia Italiana – are:
