“I’ve started by photographing my garden.
I was searching for something close to me.
Today I’m still taking pictures of my vegetable garden,
I can’t help it.
I was photographing Radici, only Radici.
I’ve driven my car up to the Cannobina Valley, the valley where my grandparents have lived, where my mother
grew up, where I’ve spent my childhood. I’ve done this also because, I have there a very beautiful garden.
It was a stream of consciousness lasted for a couple of years. from 2015 to 2017. I’ve started by taking pictures in my vegetable garden and the plants in my home garden. I was looking for something close to me and I found it by telling about that present. Is an autobiographical, plastic and free story. Is an instinctive and unconscious work but, not for that, less logical and coherent. Is revealing.Radici is a project that is born as a self-analysis and, like for any selfanalysis, it is not a theorem and there is no solutions. It’s just a story.”

BIO
FABRIZIO ALBERTINI
(Cannobio, 1984)
Graduated in Film Direction and Production at the International Academy of Audiovisual Sciences CISA Pio Bordoni, Lugano. His work has been shown, among the others, at International Locarno Film Festival.
His photographic series have been exposed, among the others, at Aperture Foundation, New York, SK Stiftung Kultur, Cologne. He publishes, with the publishing house Skinnerboox, the books The Mecca of Coney Island, 2014, Diary of an Italian Borderworker, 2016; with the publishing house Linea di Confine the book Red desert Now!, 2017.
