Exhibition curated by Daniele De Luigi

Activism is the title chosen for the sixth edition of Giovane Fotografia Italiana public call.

“Photography is a fundamental part of the authentic revolution of this era: that of information and communication. It allows for opinions, ideas, personal and world perception to emerge and circulate.

On the other end, these visions, modeled in inaccessible places, have a pervasive influence from which it is difficult to escape, while people use, produce and consume images in an increasingly rapid and uncritical way.

Is there still a way to use the photographic image as a form of activism, creating alternative vision devices and stimulating our critical, public, political conscience?

The seven photographic projects were selected by a jury composed of Daniele De Luigi, curator of Giovane Fotografia Italiana; Carine Dolek, Circulation(s). Festival de la Jeune Photographie Européenne and Shoair Mavlian, Photoworks – Brighton Photo Biennial.
