Giovane Fotografia Italiana nel Mondo
CURATED BY ILARIA CAMPIOLI AND DANIELE DE LUIGI
Eyes on Tomorrow. Giovane Fotografia Italiana nel Mondo (Young Italian Photography around the World) is an original project of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and of the Municipality of Reggio Emilia, aiming at the international promotion of the most interesting artistic researches taking place in the Italian art scene.
The project includes a large widespread exhibition on show in eleven cities around the world – Addis Ababa, Algiers, Barcelona, Mexico City, Dublin, Valletta, Melbourne, Munich, Montevideo, Moscow, New Delhi – thus promoting, beyond the Italian borders, young emerging talents in the field of photography, through works that ideally become a way to connect the world.
The thirty-nine young artists protagonists of the widespread exhibition, entrusted with the task of representing Italy in the world, have been selected among the best photographers of the Italian contemporary scene and were among those who, over the years, took part to Giovane Fotografia Italiana, the open call promoted by the Municipality of Reggio Emilia, dedicated to the discovery and showcasing of emerging talents in the photographic field. The festival, now in its 9th edition, is now considered one of the most important reference points in the Italian art scene.
